Vicodin Detox

Vicodin Detox via the Waismann Method of rapid detoxification offers a humane treatment for individuals who are physically dependent on Vicodin® or other opiate prescriptions.

“…I am no longer dependent upon the drugs that were killing me,” says Vicodin addiction patient Jerry. “The day after my detox, I walked into the bright sunshine and felt its warmth on my face. I knew then that I had a new life and a new beginning.”

You did not choose to become addicted to the prescription drug Vicodin. Perhaps you started self-medicating your back pain, chronic pain syndrome, or some other physical disorder under your doctor’s care.

Many of our patients who began treatment with four Vicodin ® per day later progress to a daily non-medical dosage (see chart ) of up to ten times that amount. We find that dependent patients who need Vicodin detox fall into the vicious cycle of excessive dosing to avoid withdrawal.

The medical community recognizes Vicodin dependency as a disorder of the central nervous system due to synthetic opiate intake. Prolonged use of Vicodin causes nerve cells in the brain to stop producing natural painkillers, or endorphins, because of the presence of Vicodin’s artificial opiates. This results in dependency  . A break in that supply causes traumatic withdrawal syndrome.

The Waismann Method

Patients who undergo our The Waismann Method of rapid Vicodin detox state that our anesthesia-assisted procedure spares them almost all of the painful, agonizing symptoms of Vicodin withdrawal. Muscle soreness and fatigue also decrease because advanced anesthesia eliminates traumatic convulsions and tremors.

  • Recognizes opiate and Vicodin dependency as a central nervous system disorder, caused by continuous opiate intake.
  • Reverses a patient’s physical opiate dependency without unnecessary suffering, fear, or shame.
  • Allows most patients to return to a productive life in a matter of days.
Differs from other methods of rapid detoxification that do not follow appropriate safety protocol.

Vicodin Detox Caution

The danger with other rapid detox centers lies in the fact that most managing doctors do not have formal training in intensive care or anesthesiology. They lack the expertise required to prevent the dangerous adrenaline surges produced during detox. Unchecked surges of adrenaline (aka norepinephrine) may constrict the coronary and peripheral blood vessels, during withdrawal, to trigger dangerously high blood pressure and elevated heart rates.

Other detoxification centers minimize the time patients are in the hospital to minimize costs, and eventually risk the patient’s safety and outcome of the procedure. Patients should have in-patient care a minimum of 4 days, with full medical assistance for pre-procedure, procedure and post-procedure transitional time.

Throughout the decade, the Waismann Method has been able to achieve detoxification with a minimum of anesthesia time (1-2 hours) for its patients. Doctors who lack the experience we have still use our previous protocol of 6 to 8 hours under anesthesia.

No opiate as Suboxone or Subutex are needed by the patient after the Waismann Method of detoxification. Post-procedure, our patients go home opiate-free.

At Waismann, our physicians are Board Certified Anesthesiologists and specialists in pain management, with extensive experience in opiate detoxification. They run individualized pre-procedure analyses of each patient and monitor vital functions throughout Vicodin detox.

We often notice the body’s inability, due to chronic Vicodin use, to absorb in the intestinal tract the important nutrients needed to synthesize the brain’s neurotransmitters and hormones. (Imbalance can lead to a variety of disorders including depression, anxiety, panic attacks, insomnia, fatigue, OCD, ADD, ADHD and chronic pain; plus, drug dependence, abuse, and worsening of the underlying deficiencies.)

Vicodin Detox Preparation

  • The Waismann Methodsm of rapid detox begins in a hospital where the patient is admitted and undergoes a comprehensive physical examination for a minimum of 24 hours before the procedure.
  • Before Vicodin detox, Waismann physicians use diagnostic blood and urine testing as well as brain chemistry assessments to identify the neurotransmitter and hormone deficiencies that may have led to non-medical Vicodin dependency.
  • Based on the results of this testing, a personalized program consisting of nutritional and hormone replacement can be designed to correct the imbalances in the brain and intestinal tract.
  • It is imperative that patients spend 24-48 hours as in-patients prior to the procedure, so pre-medication can be properly administered to stabilize body functions, which helps to achieve a smooth and safe procedure.
  • We base the duration of pre-treatment and the procedure on each individual patient's medical and dependency history; the goal is to achieve the best results and safety required by our extensive protocol.
  •
  • Specialized physicians in our hospital consult patients with certain pre-existing conditions to minimize risks and maximize positive results and comfort.

Our patients find Vicodin detox more humane and effective than traditional rehab programs.

Under anesthesia, the patient literally sleeps through physical withdrawal while Vicodin detox cleanses the brain’s receptors of Vicodin opiates. Vicodin detox eliminates conscious cravings from withdrawal while the patient is under.

While illicit drug uses decreases, non-medical Vicodin use remains high.

“There is much to be done to educate physicians about the pitfalls and dangers of Oxycodone and Vicodin,” states former Vicodin abuser Jerry. “I have started the educational process with my own doctor and will do all I can to help those who are going where I have been.”
